computer doesn't restart after memory upgrade.
I recently upgraded the RAM on my Dell dimension 4550 computer from 512MB to 1GB. The computer worked well for a day after which it switched off by itself and it is not restarting. I would like some advice please. Also, can using memory of different brands be causing this.

Try reseating the new RAM. The brand won't make any difference as long as the type of RAM is proper.
If reseating doesn't help, reinstall the old stick and/or run memtest to see whether there's a problem with the new stick of RAM. |
