What PSU do I need for a Radeon HD 4870 (CF) build?

Hi, I'm building a new computer fairly soon and I'm not sure what PSU I need.

The Basics:
Processor: Intel E8400
Motherboard: Asus P5Q
Video Card: Radeon HD 4870
Ram: Patriot Viper 2GB DDR2 1200
Hard Drive: Seagate 7200.10 250GB 7200RPM
Sound Card: None (Integrated)

My build will be with a single 4870, however I plan on buying a second card to put into crossfire in roughly 1-2 years (to further "future-proof" as time goes on)

Questions:

1) Should I buy a PSU capable of running two 4870s now so all i have to do in the future is buy another 4870 card? If so, what PSU do I need?

or

2) Should I buy a lower PSU capable of running one 4870 now and buy a new PSU and 4870 card in the future? If so, what PSU do I need?

The idea would be to save money by buying a higher power PSU in 1-2 years as prices go down(since I wouldn't utilize Crossfire until then anyway).

Also, feel free to comment or make suggestions on my overall build as it's my first one.

Thanks in advance for your responses

Re: What PSU do I need for a Radeon HD 4870 (CF) build?

You asked for opinions and here is mine:

1) I don't think you will need two of these cards and the cost to efficiency ratio would not be a very good financial decision. I think one will do all you want. By the time you save enough for the second card, there might be another new and better card out there that would be a step up for you.

2) Next, I think it would be wiser to take care of the issue and future proof your rig at this time instead of waiting.

3) Third, IMHO, I would be looking at an 850 power supply in case you do decide to move up later. Here is a list that you need to consider when you purchase a power supply:

Seasonic - any model
Corsair - any model
Thermaltake - "Toughpower" series only
PC Power & Cooling - any model
