New RAM, no power

Installed some new RAM, it wasn't clicked in properly. I started up & realised I had less memory than before so shut down, opened up, clicked it into place properly & closed the case. Now I can't start up at all. There is absolutely nothing happening. The light is on where the network cable plugs in, but nothing else.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: New RAM, no power

Need more details.....

1) Desktop? What make/model?

2) What size RAM were you installing?

3) Did you double check that you didn't accidentally pull a connection loose inside?

Re: New RAM, no power

Yes, it's adesktop. It was built for me over 4 years ago. I put in 1GB, already had 2x512GB. I've checked connections a couple of times, but can't see anything that looks disconnected.

Re: New RAM, no power

Are you certain that your motherboard will take a 1GB stick in a slot?

Does the mahcine start OK if you put the old RAM back in?

Do you know your motherboard make/model? If not, here is a nice utility that will tell you, called Everest Home:

Re: New RAM, no power

All sorted. The new RAM was the problem. That's what I get for trusting the tech guy in the shop.
Thanks
