pc will not boot up

I am having a problem with the PC booting up. When the power is turned on, the PC comes on and that's about it. I get no display on the monitor, its like the monitor isn't even connected to the PC. In order to turn the PC off, the power has to be shut down from the back, it will not allow you to hold the power button in the front down to shut it off. But, when I take one of the memory sticks out I am able to shut it down from the front.

Re: pc will not boot up

Of course not, it does sound like I was just pulling RAM out all over the place while the PC was running. I would turn it off, pull out a memory stick, start the PC up and then shut it down from the front. I am not in front of the computer at the moment so when I get home I will provide you with all the necessary information.............

thanks in advance

Re: pc will not boot up

Is this an OEM or a custom build? If Oem what Brand, Model If custom we really could use the motherboard brand, model.
Also what video card do you have or is it onboard?
