Ram Problem

I bought a pc2 2gb 5400.
ok i have a problem when i install it my computer wont boot its on but doesnt boot
so i reinstall the old 512mb pc2 5300 and it works fine i only have two slots and a 2.8ghz pentium d dual core is it the memory.
I thought 5400 and 5300 were the same and on the same note can i run 5400 and 5300 at the same time or do i need two of the same types of memory.

and no beeps the monitor just stays blank and its not the graphics card

Re: Ram Problem

Sounds like your motherboard does not support the new memory, how did you select which memory to buy? It is always best to run matched sticks.
