I have a Compaq PSU 243890 that blew a fan control transistor. Unfortunately, the explosion took out the last digit of the transistor ID. It is a TIP11?. A slight fragment of the bottom of the 3rd digit seems to indicate either a "1" or a "7". As my luck would have it, that's either an NPN or a PNP. According to the board, the collector is on the minus side of the fan circuit.
Can anybody hazard a guess before I flip a coin and see how much smoke I can generate? ![]() |
