Desktop does not work when I replace the RAM

I bought new RAM (bigger size) to replace the old one (smaller size) which was working without any problem.

When I sticked the new RAM in the DMMI1 it did not work (I did not old RAM) , I tried it on DMMI2, same thing,,,,I thought the problem with the new RAM.

I tried to test the new RAM on different desktop it worked without any problem.

What can be the problem with the first Desktop ?

Thanks
