Confused I would like to upgrade my Tiny amd athlon 2400 but dont know where to start!!!!

I would like to know if any one can help ME!!!

I have just got a Tiny AMD ATHLON 2400+ which i plan to run vista on.

but it says in the requirements for vista ultimate it needs 1 gig of ram but mine only comes with 512mb.

So..

does anyone know if i can use any ram when i upgrade or does it have to be a specific Brand or type.

Also does it matter how much i increase or will this start slowing my computer down??

Many thanks

Alex

Re: I would like to upgrade my Tiny amd athlon 2400 but dont know where to start!!!!

you can go to crucial.com and run their system scan to find out about your ram. However, If you can upgrade to 2 gigs of ram, I would strongly urge you to do so. 1 gig will run but two will run vista efficently.

In addition you need to run the following tests to see if you can run vista

http://www.pcpitstop.com/vistaready/default.asp
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...deadvisor.mspx

IMO, if you are not having problems, then wait until you purchase your next computer before getting vista.

Finally before upgrading, make sure there are vista drivers available for your printers, scanners, webcam and any other external device you may have.
