My System

Need to get new ram help...

I have an alienware laptop.

I have had it for a while now and it's worked great but as time goes on the newer games have more and more trouble.

It is running windows vista basic 32 bit.

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7600 @ 2.33GHz overclocked 2.66
2*512MB DDR2,Mem_Frequency: 332.3 MHz = 1 gig
ATI Mobility Radeon X1800,Adapter RAM: 256MB
motherboard Manufacturer: ALIENWARE Product: M5700I-R2

I pretty much assumed this and many people on my gaming forums said that they had to upgrade there ram to 2 gigs just to get certain games running smoothly. And almost every game i play is almost 100 percent ram. I have all background programs off. Sooo I assume a nice ram upgrade will dramatically boost my performance lag and delay wise.

Now my question is I never opened up my laptop it shouldn't be too hard but my question is with this information what type of ram should I get how much and where? Should I order online? Bring to a store? I just want to get it done as quick as possible I have changed my ram in my regular computer but never laptop.

Should I get 2*1 gig ram?
2*2 gigs ram?
Thanks for the help.
also I hear vista 32 bit can only run 3 gigs of ram properly? Also I don't know but I think there might be only 2 ram slots never checked.

Also if windows can only support 3 gigs should I get 1 2 gig and 1 1 gig just incase I ever wana reuse the 2 gig in the future?
