[SOLVED] I need a new power supply
I just bought an HP Pavillion a6200n pc with 2gb ram, amd athlon 64x2 dual core, 360gb hdd, and 1 dvd/cdrw drive. I upgraded my video with an ATI 2400 pro for hdmi video for movies. but now I am playing alot of games like COD4, Star trek legacy, etc.. My ATI card recommendations are for a 300+ watt pwr supply. The case came with a 250W psu. I read the moderator post on what to look for in a PSU but I dont know what will fit my case. Can anyone help me in my decision? i dont want to buy and take back...
I dont think my choice of video cards was a good one since I am playing more games than watching movies. So let me get a suggestion on a psu first then I will by a new video card if needed to continue to play some of these awesome games. COD4 plays really well anyway but the legacy game is kind of erratic and the fans kick on alot during the game. But it has never shutdown on me. Thanks again guys and gals for any help you can give me.

Re: I need a new power supply
3d, I would love to get a geforce 8series card. I know that will mean getting a bigger power supply also. I have to make sure the new psu will fit in my HP case also. Money not an issue really, but I am not wanting to put 1000+ into this. Need to buy more games!

Re: I need a new power supply
Ended up buying an nvidia Gforce 9600. Thanks for the info. Bought a 750W power supply. Plenty of power and max cables, almost too much for the inside of the computer. Again, thanks for the help!
