What's better - 4G of DDR2 6400 or 2G of DDR3 8500?
I'm thinking of upgrading my RAM but I don't know what would be better - 4G of DDR2 6400 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227269) or 2G of DDR3 8500 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231149). What do the experts think? TIA.
My mobo supports both, btw, just in case you were wondering. |

Two points come on to mind:
First, it might be nice to know what motherboard you have so we know more about your situation. Therefore, please list specs of your rig. Second, I can't think of any reason to have DDR3 at this point in time since it doesn't perform any better than DDR2, and it is super expensive.

I would stick with the DDR2 if it were my decision and what you have selected should be fine.
