Need new power supply.
Hi,
So a friend gave me a computer, and it just dosn't start. You press the button, and nothing happens, at all! I'm guessing that it's either the PSU or the motherboard. It has a L&C LC-B450 E power supply (450w), and i think that i will need to replace it. I can't find any new versions of that PSU, can anyone point me in the right direction of a new PSU that would be compatible. Thanks ~Rushlink |

Re: Need new power supply.
Okay, computer is custom built. Here is all i know w/o having to take the thing completely apart, i don't want to ruin the processor or anything by dropping it, etc (i'm clumsy)..
Processor: AMD athalon x64 (all i know) MB: Gigabyte GA-K8NS-939 Vid Card: 128mb FX5200 (AGP) i think Nvidia, but not sure. Computer is quite old, purchased 2003, i think. |

Re: Need new power supply.
Thanks! What type of things are you searching for when looking for the PSU? I'll look around and see what i can get from computer stores near-by, but i might even just order this one now, idk. :)
Thanks m8 ~Rushlink |

Re: Need new power supply.
i'm looking at this one
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817170014 and getting an adapter, for like a dollar or two at a comptuer store near by... Good or bad idea? (Oh, ferogt to mention, it has an X-blade case, that uses a couple of the 4pin molex connectors, but should not draw much from the PSU |

Re: Need new power supply.
I read the part about the 20 pin connectors, and using a 24pin PSU, it said that it would be ok to do it from 24 -> 20, but not the other way. This MB uses 20pin, the PSU i linked to uses 24pin...
Did i read the wrong part? |

Re: Need new power supply.
i could not recommend it with power supplies you get what you pay for
you don't have a demanding system you may get away with it
