Ram question

i want to add more ram to my computer. i currently hav a 512mb ram and one empty ram slot. Could i buy a 1gb or 2gb ram to go into the free slot?

Probably you can but I would check the specs of the motherboard and see how much ram will it support.

you would be better off buying 2x1g matching sticks and removing the 512
