RAM Problem.
Hi,
I was looking to upgrade my RAM. I talked to a computer technician and he showed me that my RAM type is DDR 333. So I ordered 2gb of DDR 333 from ebay. When the RAM came I looked at it and it said DDR SDRAM. I installed it in my computer and nothing happened. When I check my RAM Windows doesn't recognize it. I tried taking out the other RAM and just putting in the SDRAM and my computer will start but for some reason my monitor won't turn on so I can't see anything, so I guess I don't know if the computer started. Also, someone told me that if I hear 1 beep there is no RAM and if I hear 2 beeps it means the RAM is not compatible. There was no beeps at all when I did this. Right not I have the DDR 333 and the DDR SDRAM in my computer. Windows says I still only have 512mb of RAM but my computer does seem faster. Anyways, any help will be appreciated. |

Re: RAM Problem.
Any speed increase is probably just in your head. The RAM sounds like it is not compatible with your PC. Usually RAM is plug-and-play. You need to return the RAM and make sure you get the right DDR RAM for your PC.
