Power Supply and CPU fan issues
I am working on an emachine T2885. The owner said it had been running fine, and after returning from a trip, it wouldn't boot. I have tried 2 other power supplies, which turn the light on the motherboard on, and then the CPU fan runs for about 2-3 minutes, but I can't boot the machine. It appears they had replaced the memory at some point with DDR PC2700, but the specs for the motherboard say it should be DDR PC2100. I substituted the correct ram, but still can't boot. Does anyone know the next step(s) to try? Thanks in advance!

Re: Power Supply and CPU fan issues
No change on removing the RAM. When I plug the power cable into the PSU, the LED on the motherboard turns on, and the power supply fan starts up. Pressing the power does nothing. Fan turns off on its own after about 2 minutes

Re: Power Supply and CPU fan issues
I was quite certain that the psu is no good, but the other 2 psu's I tried didn't power on the machine either. I swapped out the ram, the cables, the cmos battery, checked and rechecked connections, disconnected HD, DVD, FDD, all to no success with a working PSU. The power switch is fine. After doing some looking around on the web, there seems to be some history of the bestec power supplies failing on the emachine T2000-T3000 series, which has caused motherboards to fail. Was there anything I've missed or need to try?
