Audio, Video, and RAM skipping issues
About 2 weeks ago, I noticed my desktop had a skipping issue.
I first noticed it while playing music, the audio almost sounded "staccato" like it was echoing/repeating itself, I played a movie, and then i noticed the video would "freeze" ever half second for a very MINUTE moment, then rush ahead to the point it would be at. While troubleshooting, I realized that even the mouse pointer was doing the same almost "stutter-step" every few moments (like half second cycles with a mere 1/16th of a second freeze). This happens even in safe mode. What ive done. Reinstalled audio/Video drivers Rebooted in Safe Mode Reset Bios defaults Replaced each individual stick of memory looking for corrupt ram. FORMATTED MY COMPUTER and reinstalled windows from scratch. I STILL have the problem, but at least now i have it (I think!) narrowed down to hardware. Any ideas? RElevant stats P4 3.0 GHZ proc 4Gig DDR2 800 ram (2 sticks of 2gig) NVIDIA 8500GT Video Card Windows XP Media Center Need anything else, i'll be happy to provide, but right now I'm at wit's end. |

just subscribing to the thread at this point.
I just finished searching all throughout the forums, and I discovered THIS GUY who had the same apparent issue. Last edited by Reyito : 05-14-2008 at 01:53 PM. |
