Power Supply Problem

Not too sure if this is the right forum but if not i'm sure someone will point me to where it should be.

My problem is simple, my computer wont turn on.

Last night I turned off my computer, no problems went to bed, got up this morning and the computer wouldn't turn on at all. The monitor lights are on indicating it's not the four way socket which I'm using, and I have tried plugging the computer power cable into another plug which I know is working - to no avail.

My computer is a HP media centre computer (3 weeks out of warranty) and on the back of it underneath the power input there is a little green light which comes on when i plug the computer and turn on the socket indicating that it isnt' the fuse of the cable itself? as for that I can't think of anything else I can do.

I need a really fast solution as I have my work for my final university exam in 6 days time! If its quicker for me just to take it into PC world and let their tech guys try and sort it out please let me know.

Many thanks for any /all help
