Re: MemTest results
Well everything was working good. Was not getting the bluescreens and the PC ran fine. Well I just got back to my house after being gone 2 days, and it seems like my computer had recently been restarted. It was at the windows loading screen for a while then i got a blue screen - restarted itself so fast i couldnt read anything on it. Well not i cant even get into windows. I just get to the windows loading screen and it just stays there. I reran MemTest and it said the memory passed the test. I have an RMA already for the ram ready, but being i cant even get into windows it seems like something else may be wrong.

Re: MemTest results
Goto the seagate website and look for there utilities and download them on another computer watch what version you download, get either the floppy or cd version, you then create a bootable floppy or cd and boot from it to test the drive.

Re: MemTest results
Yep now follow the directions "How to burn a iso image" located right under "ISO CD-ROM Image.
Follow these instructions, create the cd and boot from it. Run the long test and see what it says,,,,,,,,, good luck! |

Re: MemTest results
How long did you let memtest run?
That error typically means bad driver, or faulty or incompatible hardware, because it did during a repair install I think you can rule out a bad driver. The ntfs.sys error usually refers to some file messed up with windows, maybe write zeros to the drive and do a clean install but something must have caused this so don't do that just yet. Try booting into recovery console and run chkdsk /r Run memtest again overnite on one stick at a time, each stick overnite. Report you temps and voltages |

Re: MemTest results
Your temps and voltages appear normal but 50c is a bit high for a computer at idle witch could be a issue but I don't think its the cause of not being able to boot into windows or do a repair of windows, there is a couple things you should try,,,,,,,, Get "UBCD" and create a bootable cd, ubcd is a bootable disk with all sorts of tools on it, after you create the disk, remove your hardrive and boot from it, then run a prgram called "Mersenne Prime Test", report back how long this test will run without error or shutting down http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/tutorials.html If you have a spare hardrive try installing windows on it. Try another data cable for the hdd< |
