Ram upgrade -> Dead USB ports
hey guys.
i've just upgraded my memory with a 1 gig stick of ddr ram. previously i had only 512mb installed. Now when I boot up my PC the usb ports and serial ports do not have any power to them. I guess the new stick of ram is sucking the power from the PC. Anyway to solve this without a new power supply? Windows XP ASUS motherboard 1024 1 GB DDR Ram 440 512 GB DDR Ram any help appreciated |

Re: Ram upgrade -> Dead USB ports
Also I should note the usb ports work fine in BIOS (because I have USB keyboard) but as soon as windows boots up, keyboard (and all other USB devices for that matter) do not receive power. When I just have the 1 gig stick of RAM installed, the USB ports are fine but as soon as I have 1.5g of RAM operating, no power to USB.
Motherboard is P4Pe-X model Cheers |
