Computer Randomly Restarting
Alright. Huge problem. I've been having this over a year. My computer will randomly restart itself, usually when under heavy loads (99% of the time while gaming). It will not show BSOD, and I do have the option turned off. No error is written to the system log either.
My specs are as follows: Nvidia 7600 GT 3gb DDR2 Ram 2 250GB SATA Hard Drives in Raid 0 250gb SATA Hard Drive DVD/CD-RW Burner AMD Athlon X2 4200+ Windsor 2.2 Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor ThermalTake 430W Power Supply. The problem seems to be random. I could have just loaded the game up and boom restart, sometimes I can play for 6 hours and it restarts. Please let me know of any further information you require. Thanks in advance for your help. I'd also like to edit in here that the computer will show NO sign of slowing down before the restart. It will completely without warning. If it would slow down, I would attribute it to a probable heating problem as I have always been taught that a computer will hang a lot if the processor/GPU is overheating. Let me know if this is possibly not the case. Last edited by jaredt112 : 05-06-2008 at 02:16 AM. |
