Question Ram Upgrade

I have an E-Machine T-3516 http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2078718,00.asp

I want to upgrade my ram or memory to be able to play the newest and hottest games out(like the latest Halo, etc.)

What would be a good ram stick for my computer type?

Re: Ram Upgrade

Your computer takes PC3200 (400Mhz) memory. You have a couple of options here; you can either buy 1GB ram and make the total upto 1.5 GB. Or buy 2 x 1GB sticks and take out the 512MB already installed, I would go for the latter. You can't have too much RAM...lol
Also, I would invest in a graphics card if you haven't done so yet, especially if you're gonna be playing games. I believe your system has a PCI-e (x16) slot. You can get a decent PCI-e card for under £100. Hope this helps!

Question Re: Ram Upgrade

Thanks, your post has been most helpful. I think I'll be buying the two 1 GB sticks of ram. They come as a package on Newegg.com anyway. Since, I already have an onboard ATI video card, I guess I'll be getting something made by ATI. HUHM, I wonder would my computer support ATI Crossfire cards. You Think?

My System

Re: Ram Upgrade

You'll need at least 1.5GB of RAM to play the latest games. Ignore the fact that your onboard video is ATI. Go for something like an NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT. Don't forget to buy a quality power supply capable of 26A on the +12V rail in order to run it: Power Supply Information and Selection

Unfortunately your motherboard doesn't support CrossFire nor SLI since it only has a single PCI-E X16 slot.
