Still red light symbol? wont power on completly

I have an older computer not sure of the model or anything i apologize, it was working fine until my friend accidentyl put in ram the wrong way, now i cant even see anything when i turn it on the fans seem to work and the monitor doesnt show anything at all, just a Still Red Lighton the outisde of the computer next to the power symbol it looks like a little battery maybe? im not sure how i can tell the make and model from it for some reason it doesnt have a symbol or anything from the brand, if some one could tell me how i could tell just from the computer itself i could provide more info,

Thx for any help.

the ram only fits in one way as it is keyed
the ram may be damaged you need to find another stick to try in it

Re: Still red light symbol? wont power on completly

try a cmos reset
turn the computer off
remove the power lead from the back
take the side off
remove the cmos battery
move the cmos jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pin 2 and 3 and the back to pins 1 and 2
replace the battery
put the side on
replug in the power lead
boot the computer
