screen freezes and then my computer restarts[moved from vista]

Hi Can someone help me.

when ever i play a game called drift city my screen freezes and then my computer restarts after a while. i cant do anything when my screen freezes nothings responds not even the cursor.
this is my computer specs

Manufacturer:
HP-Pavilion
Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory:
1022MB RAM
Hard Drive:
320 GB Total
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS

have u updated the video card / sound card drivers as well as the motherboard drivers

post the minidump file if any
start\computer\c:\windows

post the dxdiag file so i can see what specs u have
start ( type in start search ) dxdiag save all info

have patch the game to if u can patch

thats it for now tell i can get the info

Just to clarify, when you play that game drift city, does your computer freeze up and then restart or it just freeze up and then you need to manually restart it?

Do you have other games with similar specs (game specs)? Do you experience this on other games?

ok ill have someone look at the dump file

till then can u uncheck the auto restart so it will help me a little and the other tech
Control Panel\System and Maintenance\System
click on advanced system then advanced startup / recovery
and UNCHECK AUTO RESTART

and get it to do the (BSOD) blue screen of death

and what do u have the sound card qualty set to

((just yestday i was messing with my sound setting and it restarted because i was playing a file and changeing the sound card setting and it restarted)))

so try and lower the sound card setting

i have some updated video drivers

how do i find the model of my soundcard and what is the video driver for? sorry im very useless at this computer stuff

try this to find the model look in device manager
start ( type in start search ) device manager view hidden device's

and a video card driver tell the video card what to do and gives info back to the cpu and etc

kind like when ur brian tells ur hands to move and they move

Are you sure you went under display adapters?

It should say your 8400GS under there if not either your graphics card is not being detected or you haven't installed your nvidia drivers properly.

check what the bios reports your tempretures and voltages as and post them
what power supply is in it look at the label on the side of it
brand
wattage
