I am having a problem with my motherboard PM8M3-V and 2 Kingston 400 Mhz(1GB) 2.6v. When I was using with 1GB memory, it was working well. After I have extended to 2 GB(Put 1 more GB), it is restarting automatically when the computer is a little busy. I have tested with both Windows XP and Windows Vista. Both having smae problem. Please kindly answered me.... Can it be motherboard problem(MSI supports till 2GB) ? Thanks in advnaced |

Re: MSI Motherboard and RAM 2 GB
Try a CMOS reset:
1. Touch the case to ground yourself. 2. Unplug your box from the wall. 3. Short pins 2 and 3 of the CMOS reset pins and wait 10 minutes. 4. Return CMOS reset pins back to 1 and 2. 5. Replug power and boot. |

Re: MSI Motherboard and RAM 2 GB
Thanks for your reply. I tried as you replied step by step.
But the problem still cannot be solved. If you have same motherboard with me, let me ask one more question. Can you see Frequency/Voltage setting in BIOS setting? I can't see in my BIOS setting. Can anybody give me alternative answer? |

Re: MSI Motherboard and RAM 2 GB
I don't have the same motherboard as you do, but I think this might be a faulty memory module. Download Memtest86 and run it with only new module in the first RAM slot to see if you get any errors: http://memtest86.com/download.html

Re: MSI Motherboard and RAM 2 GB
Thanks for your information. I tried it as you told me and the result is pretty good. There is no error in memory. Thought motherboard is the problem. Do you have any idea to flash the BIOS with CD? I don't have floppy to test BIOS flashing.

Re: MSI Motherboard and RAM 2 GB
I have problem only when I use 2 modules together. For the further testing, I have tested on another motherboard and working perfectly. I have same thought with you that must be motherboard problem.
