Computer not detecting all of my RAM

I recently rebuilt my computer. My old computer had 2 x 1 GB sticks of RAM and my old computer detected 2.00GB of RAM. When I put this new computer together with the same RAM, the computer is only detecting 1.46GB of RAM. What does this mean?

What Graphics card are you using? It may be using some of your system RAM.

Re: Computer not detecting all of my RAM

That's integrated graphics, and HawMan was correct. It can eat up that much memory when it thinks it needs it. However when you say your computer detects only 1.46GB is that in Windows or during POST?
