Question SLI/Crossfire PSU question!

If I have a PSU 1200watt sli-ready, will it work with ATI cards any way? The amps seem to be enough to handle any PCI-E cards with 8-pin or 6-pin connectors.

Also, why are they SLI or Crossfire certified/ready PSUs, to say that it is more efficient for those cards?

Re: SLI/Crossfire PSU question!

unfortunately the term "sli / crossfire ready" has become a statement which almost has no merit whatsoever

its a statement which was suppose to mean the power supply is well built and delivers plenty of clean power

now days; it really boils down to the make and model of the PSU

if you tell us the make and model of your power supply and which video cards you have >>>>> we can tell you if you can expect success with your rig

crossfire and SLI are merely competeing terms for dual "power hog" high performance video card systems...........nothing more

Re: SLI/Crossfire PSU question!

if you can give us the U.L. certification number which is found in the red circle of the pic I have attached

it will start with an E######

we can give you more info about yoru power supply, but judging by the cost of the unit I would have to agree you are ready to rock and roll with your rig

Re: SLI/Crossfire PSU question!

you have purchased a server grade power supply = A+ quality

it has active power factor correction (APFC)

80% efficiency

you should be in great shape, and the purchase price was decent too, for that level of unit
