Vaio pcg k35 ram upgrade question
I have a vaio pcg k35 which came w/ 512 DDR SDRAM 266MHz. Trying to upgrade to allowed 1G ram but ram bought gives only 448 ram according to computer. Tried 512DDR 333MHz as well as 266MHz with no change. Chatted with Sony tech (ahhh) who re-affirmed only to use 266. No explanation as to why no big change in ram. Store tech said motherboard maybe dying- will check for $70.00 and $1000 to replace it. No thankyou. Am thinking of putting back in original ram to see what it read. Could it just be a bad slot?
