What are the exact model numbers of either one? I think 450W is cutting it close for that system.

Re: corsair 450w vs coolmaster 600w

From what i understand about the coolmaster PSu's it is only the "PRO" series that offer decent quality

EG: "Real Power Pro"

COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro 550 RS-550-ACAA-A1 ATX12V / EPS12V 550W Power Supply 90 - 264 V Nemko,TUV, cUL, CE, BSMI, FCC,CCC

I also agree with underclocker that a 450W unit, quality or not will be pushing a bit thin for comfort

Re: corsair 450w vs coolmaster 600w

I would not recommend using any 450 watt power supply with the video card you want to run. The Corsair is an excelllent supply, but not strong enough in this instance and that might put strain on your computer components.

I also agree that if using Coolermaster, stay only with the Real Power Pro series, because their other supplies are made by another manufacturer and are not quality supplies.

I did see a great deal on the Corsair 750 yesterday for $119 after Mail In Rebate that you might want to consider, because that will run your video card with no problems and allow you enough head room for upgrades in the near future.

THIS is a real steal IMHO.

Re: corsair 450w vs coolmaster 600w

Just to throw my 2 cents into the bucket here. Blackduck and Tumble are both correct. The 450w is a little close for comfort and the Coolermaster Extremepower 600 (made by Seventeam) is a low quality unit that would be lucky to actually hit anything close to 600w. In fact, in a head to head matchup, these two units would be pretty close in actual stable output capabilities.

What country do you live in? Would it be possible for you upgrade to atleast the VX550 from Corsair?

Re: corsair 450w vs coolmaster 600w

I live in india and only these two are available now.....
all other brands have tobe imported n it costs 2-3 times the normal cost of the psu(which is much costlier than my 8800gt)

i mentioned my specs to the last detail and asked about the corsair 450w in the corsair forums n they said the vx450 would work fine without any problems............but i still want expert opinion on this one
