2x 512Mb RAM on gigabite m/board my comp properties says only 256M

Ok this is really wierd i have a Gigabyte GA-6WMMC7 M/board, Celeron CPU + 2x 128Mb RAM and just bought 2x 512MB PC133 168-pin dsram dimm memory i added them in and started up, it all runs fine but every kind of hardware recognition software like properties on my comp and even other ones online like testmyhardware just shows 256Mb ram, im so confused what have i done wrong, both ram modules say 512Mb on a sticker but on one of the chips says 64x4 which means 256 right, so that dont make sence either, im baffled please help meeeee

Compatiblity problem, yank out the 2x128, install only the 2x256
sticks and see what happens. You need to change your name,
forum rules are against cursing,,I dont care myself, but Im just
warning you...

erm i dont have 2x 256Mb ram i got that number from adding up 64x4 on one of the chips off the 512Mb ram sticks, sorry to confuse you, im really annoyed i got em off ebay lol probably just brought it on myself but i dont have the money to spend really

Ok, same thing, take out the smaller pair, and install the new pair,
there is a compatibilty problem, or the ram is just bad.
