[SOLVED] Help PSU/GPU

So I've decided to get a new Graphics card for my Not So High Tech
Dell E521 ( Specs are in my sig ), and apparently, I hadn't done enough research, and it requires a 400 Watt MINIMUM PSU, my PC only has 305 Watt PSU, but alot of people argue that it will still work since the PSU has 22 Amps on the 12V rail(s) ( Not too sure if they're right or wrong ).
And I also encountered a PC owner with the same PC and PSU, and he said he could use the 7900 GS fine, and already had one. I'm not really sure who to trust, but my Brain is telling me I should get a new PSU. My choices are on DirectCanada.com and the price limit is 50$ INCLUDING shipping ( Tax doesn't really matter, shipping's only 9.99$ CA ), and I'm thinking my best choices are 450 - 500 Watt, prefferably 450 - 500. I've found a PSU that looks alright:
http://http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11130AC7661&vpn=RS-460-PMSR&manufacture=COOLERMASTER
I've seen good reviews and bad reviews on Newegg.com, mostly good, some bad, 2 said they were DOA when they received them, one of which ordered one after another and both were DOA, but 80% of the Reviews were saying that it worked good, and there were 16 reviews.
BUT there's a problem. This PSU only has 18 Amps on the 12V Rail(s), and the GPU requires 22 Amp Minimum, and that it will not work, but I've ALSO seen someone with the PSU powering the same GPU (?). I'm very confused and I don't know what to do or who to trust. If you agree that I'll need a PSU, please, search DirectCanada.com and search for a 400 - 500 Watt PSU 50 Dollars Max including shipping ( 9.99$ ) that you trust and think will power my PC with the 7900 GS ( Which I received yesterday, it's made by EVGA ).
There's a pretty wide selection, so I don't think it will be a problem.
Thank you for all your support, and sorry my Thread is a bit long ( maybe not on this website, but on other's it would be concidered too long ).

Re: Help PSU/GPU

I also forgot to add, that my Dell might be a Proprietary PC, and would require a Dell Compatible PSU. Are dells ATX compatible?
Or is it just the company that would make un compatible PSUs?

Re: Help PSU/GPU

Thanks I had just realised that in the 2nd post, now I'm starting to take sides of KEEPING my PSU and trying it, I just don't want to fry it. I don't have much in my PC, 2 sticks of 512MB RAM, The 3500+ Processor, 1 HD Drive and 1 DVD, the Mobo of course, it almost looks EMPTY when I open the case. And I've also seen a thread saying that I should be fine since my PC doesn't have that many components and doesn't require alot of Power, and the 7900 GS only requires 45 Watts of Power, which isn't much, but I'm still lost. Any recommendations?

This is a good thing, right?
Standard ATX Psu's = will work in my PC?
And I know I sound a bit poor, but I'm not looking for a 100$ PSU +
the 25$ shipping, I was looking towards the 50 - 60 dollar side, and 26 Amps on the 12v+ line? The 7900 GS only requires 22 Amps, :S
Now I'm even more confused and mad.

If there has been people talking about how their PC has run 18 Amp+ PSUs with 450 Watts with the same computer/card, shouldn't I be able to use the same setup?
There's even been cases of people not even bothering changing the Stock PSU.

So I'm alright when it comes to choosing a PSU, I can pick any ATX PSU, right?
The only problem is the Amps and the Wattage, and I guess the price

Any more recommendations from DirectCanada.com?
If not, please try to make it a PSU that will actually work and will ship to Canada for under 60$ ( like raising the Budget by 10$ will make a difference... )

Re: Help PSU/GPU

Alright thanks, I'll try those, they look good.
They have enough Amps on the 12V Rails?
And if there's ant other suggestions please, do tell.
But dai thanks for that, I never realised Canadacomputers.com was a source for PSUs.
I appreciate your help.

EDIT: I think I'll go with the OCZ, just a gut feeling and it should be nice and quiet.
Thanks dai.

Would this do the trick?:

Re: Help PSU/GPU

Thank you very much for your support Dai.
I'm not aware of if OCZ is a Trusted company or not, but I'll go with you, I'm assuming it will work. Without your support I probably would've fried my new GPU and my Mobo and probably would have just wasted 50 dollars. That's a great save.
And don't worry, no more dells, and I don't think I'll be getting a more Powerful GPU any time soon, not until I get a new PC altogether. Thank you everyone for all your support.

Re: [SOLVED] Help PSU/GPU

I've also found out that it only comes with 2 SATA Cables, would this be alright for my PC?
Or would I need more ( Wouldn't be much of a deal, found some for 2,99$ Free Shipping )

Re: [SOLVED] Help PSU/GPU

HOLD ON, I found a Corsair that looks PERFECT for this occasion.

http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=014940&cid=PS.808

If link doesn't work, all you need to know is that it's a:

Corsair CMPSU-450VX 450W ATX 12V 33A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active Pfc 120MM Fan (CMPSU-450VX)

I've heard that Corsairs are very good PSUs.
This will be my last comment, promise.
If anyone has any objections about this one, just post.

Re: [SOLVED] Help PSU/GPU

the sata cables it refers to are the sata power cables not the data cables most of the sata drives usually give you the choice of plugging in a sata or molex power plug

Re: [SOLVED] Help PSU/GPU

yes it's ok has 33a on a single rail which i prefer to the multiple rails,as you lose access to a lot of the amps on the multi rails
