Re: Is my psu sufficient for my system?

I agree with my team mate Speedster. You need to not only look for a bigger PSU, you need to look at specifically some of those recommended in that "sticky" that he has given you to read. My guess would be at least a 650 Trio, but read the sticky and then come back with questions for Speedster to answer for you.

Re: Is my psu sufficient for my system?

Thanks... Using the calculator (putting in as best i can) I get: Recommended PSU Wattage: 322W + 30% = 422W. So according to this my psu is sufficient, or am I not putting the numbers correctly in the calculator? Or am I missing something here...

My System

Re: Is my psu sufficient for my system?

your supply is a competitive unit, and you chance ruining your system with it. when the supply gets stressed due to heat, apps and so on, the voltages will fluctuate.
tumble gave you an excellent supply, or the ocz link i supplied.
its not worth losing your data or any expensive parts on your rig using a borderline, cheap supply. The power supply is the foundation of your computer.
good luck

Re: Is my psu sufficient for my system?

Thanks for the good advice. I will have a better look at both the ocz and the antec one. Will both do well in a sli-setup? Thanks again.

Re: Is my psu sufficient for my system?

Hello again... Guess I waited too long cause suddenly I had a drop out of windows. Seems my GPU went fried cause I got artifacts during my post screen. I have now bought a Thermaltake Toughpower 850W and a new 8800GT. Now everything runs smooth and I hope nothing else went corrupt... What are chances something else got damaged? Seems everything is ok now, I get a decent 3dmark06 but seems I can not overclock stable at +15% as before. I imagine PSU Core temperatures are a bit higher.

Re: Is my psu sufficient for my system?

Well, those of us in the business say, "if it isn't broken, don't try to fix it." Only kidding, but if it is working fine, likely nothing else is damaged (lucky you) in the rig. BTW, that is a great power supply.
