problems with my new motherboard

well i got a new 600w PSU earlier in the week and also i got a new motherboard today, worked fine then in the middle of browsing the internet my computer freezes.

I turn it off via force shutdown and restart it only to have a really loud constant beeping sound which ended with me having to pull out the power cable of my computer as force shutdown did not work

Now my computer wont turn on at all!!!!! i think it might be my motherboard as i can hear a light noise from my psu and the data light on my router is not flashing(no ethernet power)

Any ideas? Thanks

Re: problems with my new motherboard

Does the psu work in another pc or the board with another psu? One or the other I'm guessing fried so hopefully we can narrow it down. Also how long was the pc actually running before it stopped working?

Re: problems with my new motherboard

mmmm probably around 6 hours i was reinstalling windows software ect and putting old programs back on. and i dont have another computer at the moment to test it on so im not quite sure what to do.

When i have the psu turned on i can hear a slight high pitched whine(only when ive got the case open it isent noticeable otherwise) is this normal or is it meant to be completely silent.

Thanks

Re: problems with my new motherboard

right here might be something i unplugged the power supply from my motherboard and the slight noise stopped but then when i plugged it back into the motherboard the vans jolted slightly then the light noise starts again. Do you think the power supply is broken then even after having it for a week

Could be, happens sometimes. But can't rally tell for sure unless you have another psu to try in the machine or another machine to try the psu in.
