PSU Broke =\

I recently purchased a new PSU and some thing on the psu circuit board fried and put out some smoke. Needless to say this killed 90% of my hardware. Now is this something i can contact the psu company about to potentially get some kind of compensation for their part randomly failing and destroying the rest of my computer? I could not find the answer to this anywhere so i thought i may post here and give it a try.

I seriously doubt you will get anything replaced except the faulty PSU. The only way to find out is to contact them and see, but don't hold your breath, because they will try and pin it on something you did and not an initially faulty unit.

Tumble is right, the company will not set a precedent with component compensation, because that will bring in data loss. $$$$
