2 Blown PSU's!!

I have an asus a8nsli-se with an athlon64 3800+ overclocked to 2.4 Ghz
and geforce 8500 gt, SB Audigy 2, 1 Sata hardrive 2 PATA hardrives and dvd burner. It was powered by a 450-watt PSU that came with my case. Yesterday while playing settlers 6 i started hearing what i thought was a grinding noise from one of the hardrives. After a minute the PSU made a popping noise and the system turned off. There was a spark from the bck of the computer and i flipped the power switch and unlpugged it. I tried pulling a 350 watt PSU from my girlfriends pc to see if everything was ok. I plugged it in and the green light on the motherboard came on. I pressed the power button and this PSu blew up too. The green light will still come on if a PSU is hooked up but wont boot. Do i have a bad mobo, was 350 watts enough for my pc. Im hoping i can just buy a better power supply, how can i test all my components to find out if they will be ok. Thanks for any advise.

no
you will need a minimum of a quality 550 unit like the antec trio or the corsair supply.
Power Supply Information and Selection

scroll down, use the calculator, add 30%, choose "go lite"

Re: 2 Blown PSU's!!

ok, thank you. So did the second power supply blow up right way because it couldn't supply enough power? I am afraid to go buy a new psu like the one that was suggested and have it pop as soon a press the power button.
