Failed Startup
Ok, I'm helping a friend with his computer & apparently the computer won't power up at all. I tried using my cable, which works perfectly fine with mine, but his still won't start up at all, not even the fans are rotating. Btw, I'm not really used to the technical terms so I will try to describe it as far as I can.
So I opened up the cpu & noticed that his motherboard has a 24pin, but the "power box" to the motherboard is only a 20pin. I checked online & read that it was still ok to connect them w/o the use of an adapter. So now I'm pretty lost to what is the problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

to test the ATX power supply, remove it to the system then plug it stand-alone, find the green and gray wires then try to connect the the two wires, FYI: green and gray wires of ATX power supply are the manual switch of it.

Re: Failed Startup
when connecting a 20 pin plug into a 24 pin socket
with the latching peg on top place it all the way to the right of the socket leaving the the left 4 pins open
