Strange problem

Hi Folks.
I just upgraded mypower supply from a Sunny Technologies ATX 350 to an Orion HP 585 HD and am having problems. It won't run. I did have it
running for about 5hrs,now nothing. I did remove the pin to reset the cmos and that did not work. I am puzzled with this one, sorry if i'm too vague. The fan just does a small jump but that is it.

I put the old CPU back in allowing me to get up and running and to this site. Here is the strange part, I ran my computer on my old power supply for about 30 minutes, then I disconnected the old power supply and connected the new power supply and it's working fine. It's almost as if once the computer is running for a bit then the new power supply will work. It happened again today. This is very strange. Any ideas?

Re: Strange problem

Hmmm......its possible that the problem relies on the power supplies. Have you considered a good brand such as antec, thermaltake, and PC-PowerCooling?

I just bought the Orion a few days ago. I thought the Orion I bought just before this one was defective so I did exchange it. In short 2 brand new power units in less than a week. Could this brand really be the problem, it's running now but it won't start until I run my old power supply first. It's almost like the computer has to be running for sometime then I switch over to the new power supply and it works. What could be the problem?
