RAM Upgrade problem

I just got a Samsung K4S560432E-TC75 512mb DIMM to try and tweak my poor old HP Vectra VL400.. just getting POST beeps when I attempt to boot. I've checked and double checked the seating & the slot. It's all definitely 133 and non-ECC..

Any ideas?

I believe that RAM is high density RAM, which would have compatibility issue with your current chipset.

nothing to be done about it I suppose? I sense a motherboard upgrade in the near future..

OK then:

what would be a cost-effective option for a motherboard that will support these DIMMs? I'm content to stick with my P3 for the time being..

High density RAM isn't compatible with a lot of motherboards, so you'd be better off finding some low density sticks. Not to mention low density RAM offers better performance at the same clock speeds.
