Re: Psu or motherboard problem? new build

Did you put motherboard posts (standoffs) in for each hole in the motherboard when you attached it to the case or motherboard tray?

While you are at it, tell us about the brand name of your power supply.

Re: Psu or motherboard problem? new build

I recommend booting the computer up to the bare essentials. Take out all of the computer parts from the case and only re-seat the following parts:

Power supply, motherboard, cpu, ram, and videocard.

Turn on your computer and see if you get something on the screen. If not then try clearing the cmos and refer to the motherboard manual for the cmos jumper location.

If you have more than one stick of ram, then try booting the computer with only one stick at a time.
