Psu or motherboard problem? new build
Hi everyone, just built a new pc and plug all the wires from the psu to motherboard, plug the psu to outlet turned on the switch of the psu and there is green light on mobo but the psu fan is not running so is the case fan connected to one of the 12 v plug from the psu.Tried to turn on the power button on the case and there is no response, no beeps from the motherboard speaker nothing. Wondering if the psu is busted. Help please.

Did you put motherboard posts (standoffs) in for each hole in the motherboard when you attached it to the case or motherboard tray?
While you are at it, tell us about the brand name of your power supply.

I recommend booting the computer up to the bare essentials. Take out all of the computer parts from the case and only re-seat the following parts:
Power supply, motherboard, cpu, ram, and videocard. Turn on your computer and see if you get something on the screen. If not then try clearing the cmos and refer to the motherboard manual for the cmos jumper location. If you have more than one stick of ram, then try booting the computer with only one stick at a time. |
