Power shorting
Im having a problem with running all me drives and such. I just set up this new computer that i built. The problem is that every time i plug in an extra drive my computer restarts. Same thing happens when i put a cd in the cdrom drives. At this point my computer is running on half of my drives.
I have my hard drive with windows XP, and a DVD burner hooked up right now along with 3 fans, a video card, a sound card, and it runs fine. The second i plug one more drive in everything shuts straight off and restarts. I thought my power supply was faulty so i went out and got a new one. I was running a 500W and now i have a 650W.... Either one should be sufficient to run everything stated running and then my extra hard drive and my extra CD rom.... Any suggestion. Anything to check. ![]() |

Re: Power shorting
I have tried an ultra 500w supply and an Antec 650W supply. It did the same thing with both. It is the slave drive. I have tried moving it to primary and the other to slave and i get the same results. I still cant run either/or my extra hard drive and or the extra CDrom
