vid card not getting enough power?
Nvidia vid card = 6800gs 512mb/ddr3 pci-e
powork model pw-600 power supply (i assume thats the name) pentium 3ghz dual core 2gb ram ive got the typical 1 sound card 2 ethernet cards 1 dvd drive Cant imagine all my stuff using more than 600watts? Ill find me chipset motherboard box if u guys need some info from that Basicaly what happens is my pc will make a screech noise(thru speakers) an wil reboot i get a nvdia message saying how my vid card isnt gettin enough power and the settings were lowered or something. Ive had this setup/pc for bout 20 months now and it started doing this occasionally bout 5 months ago. Maybe only once every 2 weeks. Nothing major considerin my pc never crashes. Here last couple days its done it bout 3-4 times a day while im playing lord of rings online which i been playin for 9months no problems. Noob like me probably would just replace with a bigger Power supply but i figured theres something more to it maybe? Any ideas would be great from yall :) thanks |

Re: vid card not getting enough power?
all 600w psu's are not equal

Re: vid card not getting enough power?
i bought the power supply u mentioned and im still getttin the same problem
http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...rent=nvida.jpg thats the message i get after i crash and reboots i cheked to see if my fan was workin an it was, I blew out my card and most of my pc just to get the dust out and i just updated the december (latest) drivers for my vid card just to see if that does anything. Other than that im confused if the problem continues in a couple days when i start playing again |

Re: vid card not getting enough power?
played lotro like 20 minutes an it crashed lol stupid thing. I doubt i know anyone that has a pci-e PC slot. If i knew 100% it was the card i gues i'd just buy a new one for the heck of it

Re: vid card not getting enough power?
i crashed like 7 times in prob 2hour this morning while tryin to sit on lotro. I decided to buy a new card @bestbuy so picked up a geforce 8500 gt. Doesnt even use the pci-e cable hookup from the supply.... only took bout 15 minutse into the game an bam crashed again. Sigh this is retarded. the only message i get is after it reboots and pops up with the nvdia sayin insufficent pwr. Link i posted earlier http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...rent=nvida.jpg
that doesnt pop up everytime but its the only message i get. So ive tried a new video card and pwr supply now and get the same result. Wow |

Also i d/l some Ntune thing for nvidia; my picture came of blurry but just wanted to post it so u know what i was referring too. Anywys just setting at the desktop it reads gpu1 temp= 50 celcius Whenever i load up Lotro and move around then alt tab to check it ive seen it get up to 85-90 C then it falls down to 65-70 C while keepin lotro running in the background. I assume thats bad? i duno seems really high? and if this means anythin its to the right of the temp program Fans: system-- 31889rpm nforce---675pm aux2 18rpm |

Re: vid card not getting enough power?
you just need to check water levels occasionally
yours temps are ok http://www.nvidia.com/object/ntune_5.05.54.00.html i don't think you have a nforce m/b so this should not be installed the ASUS AI Booster is the equivilent

Re: vid card not getting enough power?
Ive had this pc setup for 2yr come april and dont know anything bout checkin water levels so ive never have. is that something i need to look into i guess
Your sayin 95 celcius is ok on my video card? i figured 200 degrees ferenhieght would be really high. but what do i know :) I was kinda hopin to hear from you that my video card is fryin for some reason, so least we knew something was wrong. Now it seems were back to nowhere? http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t=100_1323.jpg http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t=100_1322.jpg Those are my pics using the Asus ai booster. Again i have no idea what those mean hopefully there good? i changed my pci-e voltage from 1.5 to auto. |

Re: vid card not getting enough power?
what ram is installed?
looks as if there is 1.8v feeding them, theres room to up the voltage a bit to try and stabilize the system, if in fact, thats an issue.

Re: vid card not getting enough power?
For whatever reason i havent gotten the insufficient pwr messsages in several days. I can barely play my game for 10-15 minutes before i crash now. Do you think it could be the graphic card overheating? Or do u think that 85-95c is ok? cause ive asked around and they all think that seems to be extremely hot?
