problem with DDR pc 400
my motherboard is 915 chipset..i used two 128 DDR 333..resulting a 256 mb ram..now i bought 1 gb DDR 400 ..in my motherboard manual it is shown that my system is compatible with 333,400 and i think another one is 530.when i installed this new ram(only 1gb),the system files are not properly loading .....when i tried to install XP SP2 with this new 1GB RAM...many of the .dll files are not copying..also..i did not change any bios settings except changing the frequency from 333 to 400..are there any other bios settings needed to be changed..what about the problem..either compatible issue or RAM problem..plz help

Re: problem with DDR pc 400
You used the incorrect method to select your new memory.
Manuals are notorious for having incomplete memory specifications. The memory upgrade you select must be an exact match to your motherboard. FIRST - Highly suggest you reinstall your original memory before trying the following. Suggest you try 4AllMemory's [Check My System] applet. NOTE: I do not work for 4AllMemory nor have any affiliation with them. 4AllMemory will download a small, temporary, applet to your system that will read your motherboard and return a WEB page showing you what you have (including empty memory slots) and what you need for a memory upgrade that exactly matches your motherboard. I highly suggest you print this page and file for the future. I learned about 4AllMemory from corporate IT as a way to select memory upgrades, but they do not purchase from them.
