intel d845wn, 3x1gb ram won't work
I have an Intel D845WN mobo, been running fine with 3 x 256mb ram. I purchased 3 1gb ram sticks, 133mhz, cl3, ecc and can't get the machine to boot with any combination of old and new sticks. Any suggestions?

Welcome to TSF
Looking at the spec's for your board it may not support 1 gig modules. http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845wn/sb/cs-008941.htm#1

Re: intel d845wn, 3x1gb ram won't work
I checked the mobo specs before I bought the ram, and I thought I was doing the right thing.
* 3.3 V (only) 168-pin SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts * Unbuffered single-sided or double-sided DIMMs * Maximum total system memory*: 3 GB with 3 DIMMs (using 512 MB technology); minimum total system memory: 32 MB * 133 MHz SDRAM DIMMs only * Serial Presence Detect (SPD) * Suspend to RAM support * ECC and non-ECC DIMMs I still have the setup CD for the mobo. Is it possible that I need to boot off that CD or do something along those lines? |
