Low on Virtual Memory

well as the title says my computer keeps coming up with a message saying it's low on virtual memory and i don't have any idea what it is or what to do about it.

(sorry if this is the wrong place to post this im new here)

first give a little information about your computer, how much ram do you have and what is your harddrives size and how much free space? Also what operating system do you have.

His Description says Windows 2000, in addition to what sobeit666 asked are you running a certain application when it happens!
