Dell Dimension 4700 shuts off

Hi all

As you can see from the title, I have a Dell Dimension 4700 which has decided to shut off on me. Here is the rundown:

The computer can be turned on, and it gets past the windows log in to the desktop. At this point, anywhere from 30 sec to 2 mins after reaching the desktop, the computer shuts down and the power light on the front blinks orange. I tried plugging the computer into different power strips/outlets, all with the same result. Is my power supply shot?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I've got the same problem. I just read another thread on this site though that suggests checking the heat sink on the cpu. I'll take a look at that.
