I have an Emachine T5048A that came with 512MB PC4200 DDR2 RAM. I bought a Crucial 1GB 240pin DDR2 PC4200 stick to add more RAM. After installation the BIOS is only seeing the 1024 MB RAM and ignoring the 512MB stick. I've tried to switch the RAMs to different slots but still does not solve the problem. I've seen this problem at another post but don't see if it was ever resolved. Any suggestions on why the T5048 is not recogizing the original 512 MB RAM after installing an additional 1GB? Thanks.
