Weird Ram Upgrade Problem

Hello

I've EPOX MF4 Motherboard with a AMD64 3500+ CPU
I was using it with 2 Sticks of 1 GB Kingston 533 mhz DDR2 Ram (total 2GB) Yesterday Installed 2 more of the same sticks making the system total 4GB

btw all kingston sticks are kvr533d2n4

and the problem starts here...

when I turn on the system with 1T memory timing its dedects the 4 GIG memory on bios test screen but I noticed that it also slowwed down the cpu speed to 193x11 and at the bottom of the screen it says there is a problem with the processor speed and system is in safe mode ..

then I change the ram timing as 2T , processor speed turned back normal as 200x11 but this time bios test screen says 3 GIG of mem is installed

The system works stable in this state but the board should support up to 16GIGS of ram according to user manual ??? so what is the problem with the system ? any idea about the issue??

thanks

Re: Weird Ram Upgrade Problem

What OS are you using?

You need to use a 64bit Operating system to detect 4gb of RAM.

Re: Weird Ram Upgrade Problem

this problem has nothing to do with OS
I'm talking about an issue about bios/board/ram..
