HELP Puter beeps 3 times

I have a dell and I tryed to put in a new memory card, now when I try to turn it on its all black and it beeps 3 time.. Any help would be GREAT

Hi tazesgirl,
What make and model dell is this?
What was the type memory you insatalled and how much?
If you remove the memory you installed will the PC boot up?

Either you do not have the memory correctly installed or you have a bad stick there. Download a free memory scan utility like the following: http://www.memtest86.com/. Take out the old memory stick and make sure only the new memory stick is installed. Then run the utility.

reseat the new stick,dont rely on the clips clicking over as this does not mean it is seated ok
