DDR2 800 or DDR2 1066

I was originally going to get,
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146565

But then I thought, why am I getting DDR2 800 RAM when the board will run DDR2 1066.

The board I will get is a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS4 Rev. 2.0
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128064

So I went to the GIGABYTE Manufacture Page,
http://www.gigabyte-usa.com/Products...ProductID=2585

and looked at the Memory Support Page,
http://www.gigabyte-usa.com/FileList...ga-p35-ds4.pdf

And I can't find any of the CORSAIR or KINGSTON 1066 listed as qualified vendors anywhere on Newegg.com

The CRUCIAL DDR2 800 I was going to use is listed, but it would be best to run 1066 right?

Re: DDR2 800 or DDR2 1066

the DDR800 will run every bit as fast as the 1066 >>>> generally the higher latencies of the bigger bandwidth memory negates any performance increase >>>>>> look for DDR800 sticks with timings of 4-4-4-12

as far as compatability goes / you are FAR better off using the ram manufacturers website memory selectors to verify compatability.

if the ram manufacturer lists a model as "guaranteed" to work; then you can rest assured it will

crucial, corsair, patriot, ocz all have excellent websites

I personally suggest you get 2 x one gig of Corsair XMS and also 2 x 512 XMS for a total of three gig

only get the extra 2 x 512 if you are a gamer, I assume you are ?
