Overheating, Fan speed accelerates

Hello,

This all started when I was cleaning the dust out of my computer, So I power it up the fan is the loudest Ive ever heard since I've owned this machine, during simple operations the fan is extremey loud. When I tried to play a game Battlefield2 it overheated. I went into the BIOS and the feature "Quiet+Cool" was Enabled. The only thing that I disconnected from the computer when I was removing the dust from the unit was the disk drive, and i connected all the parts according to as I seen them before I took it apart.

Thank you for your time.

Re: Overheating, Fan speed accelerates

I rarely use the the options to turn the fan down or off for quietness.
I run mine full tilt.,always. What fan are you talking about the cpu fan
the gpu fan, or the psu fan? If its the cpu overheating after you just
cleaned the fan, I would suspect its time to put a fresh coat of
artic silver on the cpu, that stuff breaks down "wears out" in time.
That may be causing the overheat situation. If that fan is wailing it
may be time to thing about replacing that, sounds like a bearing may
be shot which in itself may cause overheating because its not turning
fast enough to cool, or may even be locking up occasionally.
