I upgraded my PC a while ago, the specs were as follows
AMD X2 4400 (socket 939) 2Gb DDR RAM Asus A8N-SLI SE mobo 320Gb PATA HDD LG DVD-RW Gigiabyte 7600GT graphics card anyways, everything was fine, eventually i upgraded the graphics card to a Nvidia 8800GTS 320, and it was even better, but after a few months i was intermitently losing control of my USB mouse, thinking the mouse was faulty, i tried a different one, but it made no difference, so i upgraded again, replacing the CPU, mobo and RAM the parts i got were: gigabyte N650SLI-DS4 Intel core2 q6600 2Gb DDR2 RAM the problem was still present, so the only other option as unlikely as it sounds was the PSU. replaced under warranty a new PSU was fitted (same model) and after a month or so the problem re-occurred. along with another issue with the mobo (system temp considerably higher than CPU temp) >10 degrees c. i took it to the shop where i purchased it for them to take a look. has anyone else reported similar issues with this PSU? P.S i also experienced this issue with linux so it confirms i have a hardware problem. |

Re: coolermaster extreme 650 PSU = lemon
i wouldnt trust that supply if you gave it to me, it doesnt matter that it cost $100..I believe yours is 70% efficient with no pfc.
Read this before purchasing another supply: Power Supply Information and Selection The coolermaster shown for desktops in the article is of a different line, better quality. Use the calculator
